Financial Guru and Corporate Spokesperson Suze Orman … It’s NOT a Trend!
Kudos to America’s Milk Processors and their PR firm, Weber Shandwick, in their latest got milk? print campaign and media relations efforts (the site is clever — talking about budgets, quarters, etc.).
Using Suze Orman (check out the full page ad on the back of the USA Today business section this morning), they are taking advantage of a well-known, respected talk show host (and prominent guest on NBC’s Today Show). Not to mention using her when the media is talking about financials, economics and money 24/7 each day. I’d expect this deal to get some good pick up over the next few weeks.
But even with the financial industry being top of mind daily, let’s be very clear, we do not expect to see financial experts as the next group of “influencers” (i.e., chefs, stylists, personal trainers, designers, coaches, etc.) to get corporate money. The reason is simple.
They can’t touch (endorse) public companies!
With their “objective” talk shows, they can’t afford to be paid to shill for a company that people can buy and sell on the stock market. It’s why the Milk deal for Suze makes even more sense.
